The tooman demo tape (and what will come before it)

As a 16 — soon to be 17 — year old producer, songwriter, designer, and whatever else I’ve decided to be, I’ve always had a tendency to want to show off the work I make. That might’ve stunted my growth in the past, since I’d get overly excited and announce a project as soon as I started it.

But I’ve been working on something like this — the tooman demo tape — for years now. There’s even a song or two I made back in middle school. The record has always existed, really, because I wasn’t making “a demo tape” — I was just making music.

Maybe this is just a stream of consciousness that no one will read, but I’ve still got at least a little bit of hope.

That being said, I’m dropping a 4 song EP called 4 Songs I Like (inspired title, I know) before I release the tooman demo tape. As I’m writing this, I’m still not sure if it’ll just be on SoundCloud, or if I’ll upload it to DSPs like Spotify and Apple Music.

The tooman demo tape is big for me, tho — because it’ll be the first time I’m releasing my own music, with my own voice, into the world.
